Welcome. By using reading.pet you agree to the rules below. They are short on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to support@reading.pet and we will explain.
reading.pet is a personal read-later app. You save links, the app saves a clean copy for reading, and a small pixel pet keeps you company. It is an independent project, not a company product, and there is no support team behind it, just one human who reads email.
You sign in with Google. You are responsible for the Google account you use and for keeping it secure. One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone, do not share login credentials, and do not try to access another user's data.
You must be old enough to use the service in your country (at least 13, or 16 in places where that is the rule).
The articles, tags, notes, and preferences you put into reading.pet are yours. We do not claim ownership of any of it and we do not sell it.
We do need a basic permission to make the app work: by saving an article you allow us to fetch the page on your behalf, parse it into reader-friendly form, store it, show it back to you, translate it, and summarise it. That permission ends when you delete the bookmark or the account.
If you do any of the above we may suspend or delete your account without notice.
reading.pet fetches articles from other websites. Those articles belong to their original authors and publishers. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or legality. The clean copy stored in your account is for your personal reading only. Do not republish, resell, or otherwise infringe on someone else's rights using the app.
AI summaries and translations are produced by language models. They can be wrong, miss context, or invent details. Treat them as a quick aid, not a source of truth.
The app is currently free. If we ever introduce paid plans we will tell you in advance and the free tier you signed up on will keep working in some form. We will not charge you without consent.
We try to keep reading.pet online and fast, but we cannot guarantee uptime. The service may go down for maintenance, infrastructure problems, or because something broke at three in the morning. There is no SLA.
Features may change, get added, or disappear. If we remove something important we will give reasonable notice. The app is under active development, so expect rough edges and the occasional regression.
You can delete your account any time from settings. We can also close an account if you break these terms or if your activity threatens the service or other users. After deletion we wipe your data; backups (if any exist) age out within a short window.
reading.pet is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes things like fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. If the app loses your bookmarks or fails to summarise something correctly, that is unfortunate, but it is not grounds for a claim.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of reading.pet. If a court decides we owe you something anyway, the total amount will not exceed what you paid us in the last twelve months (which, for a free account, is zero).
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the service you agree to that policy as well.
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page. For meaningful changes we will show a notice in the app the next time you sign in. Continuing to use reading.pet after that means you accept the new version.
